EA Sports has unveiled the official driver ratings for the upcoming F1 25 video game, set to launch on May 30, 2025. These ratings, based on a combination of historical data, recent performances, and expert analysis, have ignited discussions among fans and players alike.

Top-Rated Drivers

Leading the pack is four-time World Champion Max Verstappen, boasting an overall rating of 95. His impressive stats include a Racecraft of 96 and Pace of 96, reflecting his dominance on the track. Following closely are Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, both with ratings of 91, showcasing their consistent performances in recent seasons.

Notably, George Russell and Carlos Sainz Jr. each hold a rating of 90, while Lewis Hamilton, now with Ferrari, has an 89. Despite Hamilton’s extensive experience, his lower Pace rating of 87 slightly affects his overall score.

Surprising Ratings

One of the most debated ratings is that of Oscar Piastri. Despite leading the current championship standings, he has an overall rating of 87, placing him below several drivers he has outperformed this season. This discrepancy has led to criticism from fans who feel the ratings don’t accurately reflect current form.

Another point of contention is the rating of rookie Kimi Antonelli. Despite becoming the youngest ever polesitter in F1 history, he has a rating of 72, the second-lowest in the game. This has raised questions about the weight given to experience over recent achievements.

Lowest-Rated Drivers

At the bottom of the list is Isack Hadjar with a rating of 68. Other drivers with lower ratings include Jack Doohan (73), Gabriel Bortoleto (74), and Oliver Bearman (74). These ratings reflect their limited experience and recent performances in the sport.

Interestingly, Liam Lawson is the only ‘rookie’ driver to have a higher rating than a ‘non-rookie’ driver. Lawson has been given a rating of 80 whilst Lance Stroll is only rated at 78.

Fan Reactions

The release of the ratings has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media. Many fans have expressed surprise and disagreement with certain ratings, particularly those of Piastri and Antonelli. Some have called for EA Sports to update the ratings to better reflect current performances.

The F1 25 driver ratings have certainly stirred the pot, highlighting the challenges of balancing historical data with current form. As the season progresses and the game updates its ratings, fans will be watching closely to see how these numbers evolve.

Note: The F1 25 game is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
